PLEASE NOTE: DO NOT send your supporting documentation via a method that requires pickup during business hours at the post office. Plase simply mail everything using first class mail only!
Fall 2008 Recreation Registration
PLEASE NOTE: For the time being, we will no longer be able to provide Poloroid Photos at sign ups. PLEASE REMEMBER TO BRING a current 1" by 1" head shot photo of your child at the time of registration. Your registration will NOT BE ACCEPTED without a photo! Don't forget! Poloroid has STOPPED manufacturing thier instant film!

The 2008 Season - August 23rd to November 8th
2008 Registration - Early bird discounted registration for the fall recreation season
will be Saturdays May 3rd, 10th & 17th from 9am-1pm at the GCYSL office (address above).
Fee's will be: $65 for early bird,
$75 after that. On line registration (above) is $5 more. Open (In person) registration will be from May 18 to June 14. After June 14, registration will be on a space available basis only.

- A 1" by 1" current head shot photo of your child
Both forms can be downloaded to speed up the process, or forms will be available on site. Also required, FOR ALL PLAYERS, a 1"x1" current photo for I.D. card, a copy of a birth certificate (County birth certificates required, no hospital copies allowed) to leave on file for all new players, & the registration fee (check or cash only).
**Note: This form is created by our regional office & can't be modified. If you're having trouble opening it, DON'T PANIC. Forms will be available on site and take only minutes to fill out. If you want to try to make it work, make sure you have the current version of Adobe Acrobat installed.
Team Requests - As our league grows it's becoming more difficult to accommodate requests. Only requests received before May 17 will be considered. It will be possible to request a coach or a location. For friend requests, they will only be considered if both friends request each other. NO EXCEPTIONS & no changes to registrations after they're turned in. Requests will be considered in order of receipt of completed registration.
Girls Teams - In conjunction with 49er Youth Soccer, we have all girls teams available for 8-13 year olds (U10, U12 & U14). These teams have 5 home games and 5 away games, played in the Auburn/Colfax area. Because we have a limited number of teams, requests for coach, friend & location choices are limited.
Metro/Class I - If you're looking for a greater challenge than your U10-U14 recreational team can provide, or you're too old for a rec. team (aged 14-18 as of July 31, 2008), a Metro/Class I team might be the place for you. Tryouts will be in March & April. This page has more details and for information on the differences between recreational, metro & class 1 soccer. Email Dan at metro@gcyslsoccer.org or call 273-8507.
Referees - Referees are greatly needed for the 2008 season. If you will be 12 years or older as of Aug 1, 2008, please consider joining our staff of referees. High School students and adults are particularly needed to referee the older age groups. There will be 16 hour training courses available during the summer, which will be advertised on the website. This is a great opportunity to earn some money and to make a difference in our youth soccer programs. Call 272-5357 or email referee@gcyslsoccer.org for more information. For returning referees, we will be holding hands-on trainings sessions this summer, specifically for those who want to move to a higher level, including metro.
Coaches - We're always short of coaches. In order to put together teams on time, teams will be limited to the number of coaches we have as of June 14. Coaches signing up prior to April 15 will receive a $30 discount on their child's registration. GCYSL will provide clinics for all new coaches as well as advanced clinics for our more experienced coaches. The clinics will be advertised on the web page and are offered during May, June or July. Other volunteers - With over 1500 players in GCYSL, we are in need of volunteers for various positions and committees. Field setup, age group coordinators and office assistance are just a few of the volunteer positions we have available. Summer Soccer Camp - We're pleased to again host soccer camps this summer, hosted by Challenger British Soccer camps. The Camp dates are July 7th-July 11th and July 14th-July 18th.
