Board Meeting November 9, 2006
Minutes
Meeting called to order by Sophia Meyer
at 6:15pm.
Roll Call: Sophia Meyer, Steve
Schaffer, Thomas Breiter, Chuck Hemmert, Leslie Nemeth, Dan Vielhauer, Sandi
Zadjeck, Jim Oebker, Cathy Ivazes.
Reports:
President’s Report: GCYSL’s
Annual General Meeting will be held Sunday November 12th at the
Superintendent’s Building. The meeting will begin at 5pm with refreshments
being served. Sophia will print up coupons for $20.00 off registration to be
given to those coaches that come to the meeting. Last year we had nine coaches
and three assistant coaches attend. All board members need to prepare a report
for the coaches including an expense report. Dan Vielhauer will be running for
the board again. Coaches Kurt Miller and Rene Vandemeer are interested in
running. Referee director Dave Pistone has offered to run if we need him but
is willing to continue to help run the referee program without serving on the
board. We can only have 9 voting board members. Last years AGM focused on our
need for volunteers and a volunteer coordinator. This will be our mission for
next year.
Uniforms: Adidas bought the
rights to the MLS jerseys and are not authorizing the use of their jerseys to
any youth clubs. Consequently, no MLS jerseys will be available to our league.
At least 700 people bought new uniforms last year. Samba is willing to help
with distribution but the board may have to handle it. Thomas is going to
research the options including switching teams to the Xara international
jerseys, going back to reversables if they can be found, or just distributing
custom colored t-shirts at no cost to parents. Steve S. motioned “ GCYSL will
continue to use Xara for uniforms, charging $20.00 more per player at
registration, having Samba distribute.” Chuck 2nd. After further
discussion, Steve withdrew the motion to allow for Thomas to research the
various options.
Good of the Game: Sandi’s son’s
U10 team is first in their division. Rene’s U19 girls team is hosting District
Cup the first weekend in December.
