GCYSL Board Meeting
April 13,
2006
Meeting Called to Order by Sophia Meyer
at 6:03pm.
Roll Call: Sophia Meyer, Steve Langley,
Leslie Nemeth, Steve Schaffer, Cathy Ivazes, Sandi Bownas, Dan Vielhauer.
New Business: Sharon Hines has
volunteered to become our new bookkeeper and has met with Hosea and Sophia who
highly recommend her. Sandi Bownas motioned, “ The board will appoint Sharon
Hines as the GCYSL treasurer.” Steve S 2nd the motion. All in
favor. Sophia will continue to handle all money transfers.
Metro: no try-outs have been held yet
due to weather. The new try-out schedule will be April 22,23,29 and 30.
Competitive: All leagues will be
offering teams for each age group, although smaller leagues like ours rarely
field many.
Coaches: 60% of our coaches have
responded with most returning for 2006. Accidentally scheduled an E clinic for
Mother’s Day weekend, this has been postponed for the following weekend, May
19-21. F clinic remains on June 16th. Possible custom balls can be
ordered this year. Steve will let us know the details.
Volunteers: Steve S has a list for
volunteer jobs relating to fields. Samba is not interested in doing an ongoing
swap shop, Leslie will check with thrift and consignment shops about this
task. She needs more specific lists of jobs for registration so she can get
volunteers then.
Registrar: Registration will be held the
last 2 Saturdays of May and the first two of June,
May 20,27, June 3,10. Birth certificates
are mostly checked. We need to get the registrar’s box and new software from
Mary Miles.
Fields: Nets for Sierra College field,
status is still in waiting on school/city. Mautino shed cannot be put in park
but may be possible to place it in the water treatment area. U10 field: all
south county schools could hold a u10 field but we still need to contact south
county schools principals according to the superintendents office.
Pictures: ASPORTS will continue under
last years contract at same prices. Picture day is scheduled for September 16th,
2006.
Meeting adjourned at 7:15pm.
