GCYSL Minutes

July 10, 2003

 

Call to Order:  Dan K. called the meeting to order at 7:45.

Roll Call :  Present –  Steve Langley, Dan Kumetat, Cathy Ivazes, Sophia Meyer, Jeff Moore, Dan Vielhauer, Karen Mikan

Acceptance of Minutes:  Some members couldn’t read the attachment, so will review June & July’s minutes next month. 

 

Committee Reports:

District VI meeting: District Referee meeting mandatory.  Medical release will be strictly enforced. 

Class I:  GSSL approved.  This mainly affects premier teams.

Metro -  6 U16 teams, 7 U14 boys teams, and 8 U14 girls teams are currently in the tournament.  Sierra college wants a cut on shirts sold at the field.  7-8 club teams still need to get their paperwork in. 

Coaching- 24 people took the F clinic.  A couple of coaches have a temporary license.  All others have full licenses.  We’ll do a pre-F as we add new coaches to take the open teams we still have.

Referee- There’s a clinic coming up.  Christine has 25 books.  We will yellow/red card coaches.  The game will be stopped at a coaching red card.  Christine must be notified.  Slide tackling will get a red after repeated warning.  U8s will have normal substitution.  U6 & U8s can re-take bad throw-ins.  U10s get 1 do-over.  No jewelry.  Must wear the gold country uniform.  Can wear sweats underneath.  Shinguards must be covered.  No braces. 

Fields – We need to put in 50 hours of work at Sierra college to fill in holes.  Ready Spring also wants some work done on their field. 

Registration – Coaches meeting coming up next week.  NO CHANGES to teams, unless it was our fault.  We’ll hopefully have schedules, rosters, yellows, guidelines, parent & coach code of conduct, equipment, picture packets at the meeting.  We’ll have player cards at the Aug 19 referee meeting.  We’ll have a sign up sheet for fields, but we’ll only manage NC and Sierra College.

Purchasing – Balls & goals are on their way. 

New Business – Since income is coming in for the tournament, a motion was made for the Metro checking account to be used for Metro specific income and Metro specific expenses only;  i.e. trainer fees, tournament income, tournament expenses.  Sophia moved.  Jeff 2nd Approved.  Dan V.  will look into having an account not associated with GCYSL.
